Springtime calls for opening up our body and letting go of winter sluggishness. Including more spicy foods and drinks will help us clear congestion, enhance our metabolism, and strengthen our immune system. The products in this bundle will do just that for you!
Included in this bundle are five products: Kapha Khichari, Raisin-Cranberry Sauce, Immuno-Support Tea, Shroto-Shudhi Masala, Best Hing Ever.
Kapha Khichari: Ayurveda’s culinary centerpiece, Khichari (pronounced KI-cha-REE) is India’s one-pot grain and bean dish. This comforting, complete protein recipe is the perfect on-the-go meal for any time of the day. The soaked, rinsed, and dehydrated ingredients and our freshly ground spice blend make this nourishing and cleansing meal convenient to eat healthy and feel good. Its simplicity allows for easy digestion while serving as a base for countless variations by adding your choice of vegetables and garnishes.
Raisin-Cranberry Sauce: This is our Ayurvedic version of tomato-free barbecue sauce. Black cardamom’s smoky flavor combined with the tart and sweet dried fruit certainly make up for the lack of traditional barbecue sauce ingredients. Enjoy this delicious, deep-red-colored sauce with grains, vegetables, lasagna, or any dish with which you’d like to replace tomato sauce.
Shroto-Shudhi Masala: Use this pungent spice blend in the winter or spring, when you have a cold, are feeling sluggish, or anytime your physiology needs “unclogging.” Shroto-Shudhi Masala opens the channels of the body and burns ama (partially digested or metabolized food substance). SV Ayurveda teaches that good health depends on the body’s channels being opened and balanced. This state assures deep nourishment and safe elimination of toxins.
Best Hing Ever: Hing, or asafoetida, is a plant resin that resembles the sulfury flavor of onions and garlic. It balances Airy or Earthy digestion; however, it is too heating for when you're feeling Fiery. Best Hing Ever is the purest asafoetida available in the United States; it is also gluten free. This asafoetida is extremely potent—a tiny pinch is enough for four servings of legumes, vegetables, or soup. Always add asafoetida at the beginning of cooking, or toast it in a little oil to add it as a finishing flavor. Do not sprinkle it raw on food.
