This soup defines easy on all levels: from preparation and cooking to nourishment and digestibility. Split mung beans are highly respected in Ayurvedic cuisine because they are balancing for every body type. They are light, dry, grounding, and detoxifying, making this dal—a traditional Ayurvedic soup—a protein staple for everyone. In this version, the creamy texture, bright yellow color, and accent flavors are guaranteed to delight your senses and stabilize your mind and body. For a more well-balanced meal, pair this soup with rice and/or vegetables.

We recommend finishing this soup with ghee or olive oil, freshly squeezed lime juice, and fresh herbs such as dill or cilantro.

So comforting

Who doesn't love a hot bowl of soup on a cold night? This one delivers, and in such a short amount of time. The flavor was right on and everyone around the table loved it.

My New Favorite Soup

I always order this soup when I go to the restaurant and I also prepare it at home using the cookbook, so I was a little skeptical about what to expect from the prepackaged version. I am amazed at how good tastes compared to the fresh homemade soup. I love it!
